Cake Smash Challenges
Â
Dear Moms,
Â
I feel it is time to have a Heart to Heart again đđ«Ł
I know the feeling that some of you experience when trying to keep up with this insane life nowadays.
Media and stereotypes doesnât help new moms, we all try to fit in and be the best we can be.
Â
I want you to hear me and learn from me, and my experience with countless babies that I have worked with.Â
Â
Not every baby is the same. No baby is the same.
Every child is unique and has different comfort zones, and they reach milestones on their own time.
What fits your friendâs baby, may not fit yours.
If it works on your friendâs baby, the same thing may not work on yours. Just because others babies smiled, doesnât mean yours will.
As well as if your friend looks good in some poses or dresses, that does not necessarily mean it may work for you đ
Â
I guess I am trying to say, every baby, mom, family is unique in their own beautiful way. If you compare your family to others youâll never be satisfied.
Â
Some babies cry, and some donât smile. Some actually end up not being able to separate and take one shot.
And I remind all moms, that itâs OK, this is your memory, this is your child.Â
You hear this from a mom that tried to force a cake smash on my own child 3 times!!!! And every other time was worse than the first..
I accepted it. It wasnât meant to be and now we have wonderful memories and funny stories to tell. đ
Â
Itâs really important to remember:
Â
-Consider your kids capabilities and adjustment to new space and social comfort. Being open and comfortable with new people/social skills.Â
-Sensory challenges.Â
-Make sure not to eliminate babies naps to accommodate their preferred appointment time or availability.Â
-Reach out and request rescheduling appointment if anyone feels sick or something is bothering them. Even runny nose can be extremely inconvenient during the session.Â
Instead of trying to âride it throughâ to accommodate your own convenience.Â
Not happy baby = Not successful sessionÂ
Â
And last but not least, safety of your baby is one of my biggest priorities.
Moms have lots of ideas⊠but
I will say (NO) if I feel your suggestions are not safe for the baby.đ
Â
As beautiful and special photography is, childâs safety, happiness, comfort and joy will always be my first priorityđ„°Â
